The 2008 Silverstone Britcar 24 hour race

Marlin Land would like to congratulate the Chimp Tune Racing Team who scored a fantastic success in the Britcar 24 hour endurance race at Silverstone, in glorious weather conditions.

The team ran a standard Lotus Elise 111S with only modified brakes and suspension, to endure the hammering of a 24 hour race. Highlights of the gruelling 24 hours included Richard Chamberlain putting in the fastest lap in class and a thrilling battle to keep 2nd place in class against an MG, as well as being able to equal the 533 laps put in by the 1st in class Clio.

The team was hindered by technical difficulties and even a total breakdown on circuit that required recovery, but they kept the pressure on, and following some uncertainty over who had actually won their class, the drivers stepped up to the second step on the podium missing a class win by just 24 seconds, and finishing a fantastic 17th overall.

Marlin Land, in conjunction with their joint venture partners Property Income & Growth Fund Ltd, have sold Unit 9 of 4063 sq ft at Marlin Park Heathrow to Renzacci Ltd for £692,550 (£170 per sq ft).

The sale of the unit was concluded in less than four weeks from agreeing terms. The scheme has enjoyed particular success owing to its location within the heart of Heathrow, as well as the quality of design and layout of the development.

With only Unit 7 of 4790 sq ft remaining on the scheme, Marlin Land's Stephen Prockter commented, “The level of interest being shown in the last unit is strong, but this is of no surprise. The lack of liquidity in the financial markets has affected purchasers ability to acquire freehold property, but equally the availability of high quality property in the area is severely limited”.
